The following are the steps we follow for each project. This process allows for a complete partnership between Net-Capacity and our clients.

Step I - Planning

1. Determine the goals of your site and your target audience. Knowing your goals and audience helps us to build a site to meet your needs.
2. Decide on a URL (http://www.yourcompany.com) and Net-Capacity will register it for you. If you have any in mind, we can check their availability for you.
3. Browse the Internet to find examples of sites that you feel are successful in their presentation of design, usability, and content. This helps us understand and deliver the site you want. We will make suggestions where you can find many sites in a short period of time to expedite the process.
4. Decide what pages your site needs based on the goals you established in step I-1 and your budget. We will work with you to best determine navigation, number of pages, layout, and interactivity of your site.
5. Establish a timeline for development where everyone understands who is responsible for what and when.
6. Review and sign the Project Requirements Document and Standard Service Agreement before we continue with site development. These will list the features of your site in detail to make certain that you and Net-Capacity are on the same page.


Step II - Your Homework -- Gathering the Content


7. Developing a website is a partnership between you and the development company and homework represents an important part. Net-Capacity will assemble a list of the necessary information needed for the pages and sections that have been specified for your website. Often this is the most difficult portion of building your website. It is important that you, in the timeline that we develop together, understand certain deadlines in order to keep our process moving at the desired pace.
8. Net-Capacity offers services that can make this part of the process easier for you. These services include:
   • Photography - professional photography of products, locations, personnel, etc.
   • Copywriting - writing and editing based upon the structure of your site and the basics of Internet copy.
9. Receiving your content in electronic format is important. This will keep your development on schedule and produce the highest quality site. Additional cost may apply for content development if content is not provided electronically.


Step III - It's Our Turn -- Design and Development


10. Expect development of your site to take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks to a few months (depending of the project size), unless it is specified otherwise. If you require a job to be done in a shorter period of time, rush charges of 25% will apply. Projects that involve technical components or customized programming will require technical specifications, and a timeline will be developed on a per-project basis.
11. Review your mockups, choose one, and request changes. We will develop a graphic design concept for your homepage and interior page(s) once we receive your information such as logos and a list of sites that you like and don't like. The mockup will be displayed on password protected portion of the Net-Capacity website that only you and Net-Capacity will be able to access.
12. After the graphic design has been approved, we will begin production on the site -- building all of the internal pages, forms, and other parts of the site.
13. Review the entire site and send us a list of all changes during scheduled production reviews. Graphical design and layout changes at this time are subject to additional cost.


Step IV - Unveiling - Time to Go live


14. When you give the final approval for the entire website, Net-Capacity will test it one more time in ensure nothing has been overlooked.
15. Once the site is live, it is time to start Search Engine Marketing where your site is registered with the major search engines. Net-Capacity has specialists in search engine optimization and marketing and we will be happy to discuss a suitable package to meet your goals.
16. For hosting with Net-Capacity, you will receive a free statistical analysis package, accessible through the Internet at any time through your site's administration pages.
17. Once your site is live, it is your property. Net-Capacity requires a one-year contract for hosting if you choose to host with us.


Step V - Ongoing service


18. One key to a successful website is keeping the content fresh and up-to-date. Net-Capacity will work with you to determine the amount of time necessary to keep your site fresh and can work out individual packages to suit your needs. We also have a content management system where you or someone in your organization can update content easily through the Internet. These options will be discussed in the planning portion of the website.
